Passover, the Feast of God through which we can be protected from disastor

God let us know the way we can escape disastor and be saved Through the Bible.
3500years ago, the Israelites were saved from 10 disastors and they were freed from slavery in Egypt.
Exodus12:10-14
Do not leave any of it till morning; if some is left till morning, you must burn it.
This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the LORD's Passover.
"On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn--both men and animals--and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD.
The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.
"This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the LORD -a lasting ordinance.


To let them be freed from slavery, God brought 10 disastors-disastor of blood, frog, darkness etc..
And the last one of those disastors was to kill every first born.
Egyptians who ignored the command of God to keep the Passover all faced the death of their firstborn. But the Israelites, who kept the Passover according to God's commandment, were protected and not a single firstborn were dead.
And God commanded to keep the Passover as a lasting ordinance.

Exodus 12:14 "This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the LORD -a lasting ordinance.

Then why did God commanded to keep the Passover as a lasting ordinance?
Because in this age too, God promised Eternal life and Forgiveness of sins and also Protection of God from disastors through the Passover.
We can find many verses teaching to keep the Passover spoken by Jesus.
In the new testament, Jesus, who is God in the flesh also commanded us to keep the Passover

John 6:53-54
Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

How can we eat Jesus's flesh and blood? Because he said we have to eat his flesh and drink his blood to receive eternal life.

Matthew 26:17
On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?"
He replied, "Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, 'The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.' "
So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.

On the Passover day, Jesus promised that the bread and wine on the Passover are  his flesh and his blood.
So when we keep the Passover we can receive eternal life and also we can be one body with Jesus, so we can be protected by God from disastors.
